UND Nonprofit Leadership Student Association’s prom dress bargain basement sale is March 15

The University of North Dakota’s Nonprofit Leadership Students Association will host its sixth annual prom dress sale from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, March 15, in the Social Hall at Sacred Heart School, 122 Third St. N.W., in East Grand Forks.

This year, all dresses will be priced at $25 or less.

Proceeds will benefit St. Joseph’s Social Care and Thrift Store, a local nonprofit organization founded after the Flood of 1997. St. Joseph’s offers the following programs for those in need: emergency financial assistance, a food pantry, Cars for a Cause, Forward Movement, Transitional Housing Program, permanent supportive housing, free summer lunch for youth, thrift store vouchers and a Halloween costume giveaway.

NLSA is an affiliate of UND Arts & Sciences’ Nonprofit Leadership Program. The program prepares students to work in the nonprofit sector. NLSA focuses on community service and volunteerism in the Grand Forks area while also raising funds to go to national conferences. Members are given the opportunity to develop teamwork skills and build a nonprofit network.

The Nonprofit Leadership Program offers both an 18-credit certificate and a 21-credit minor. The program is accredited by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, a national organization that establishes competencies in colleges and universities in nonprofit leadership.
