UND’s Nonprofit Leadership Student Association invites public teams to sign up for Fourth Annual Snowball Winter Softball Tournament

Break out your bats and gloves because softball season is coming early again this year thanks to the University of North Dakota.

The UND Nonprofit Leadership Student Association (NLSA) will be holding its Fourth Annual Snowball Winter Softball Tournament on Saturday, Feb 22, starting at 10 a.m., at Apollo Field in Grand Forks. Teams are encouraged to sign up now.

Snowball teams must comprise, but are not limited to, 10 players per team. The registration fee for the tourney is $20. Each player will receive a T-shirt.

All proceeds will benefit St. Joseph’s Social Care and Thrift Store. The NLSA chooses a new beneficiary in the Grand Forks community to support each year.

NLSA is an affiliate of the UND Arts & Sciences Nonprofit Leadership Program. The program prepares students to work in the nonprofit sector. NLSA focuses on community service and volunteerism in the Grand Forks community while also raising funds to go to national conferences. Members also are given the opportunity to develop teamwork skills and build a nonprofit network.

The Nonprofit Leadership Program offers a 21 credit minor or 18 credit certificate to a student at UND. The program is accredited by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, a national organization that establishes competencies in colleges and universities in nonprofit leadership.
