Tejinder Kaur has been named the University of North Dakota Chester Fritz Library Outstanding Support Staff for 2013.
“Teji” is an Advanced Cataloging and Special Projects Specialist for the Chester Fritz Library. She has worked in the Library for over 20 years and is responsible for cataloging many different and “special” types of materials, including books, DVD, maps and other formats. Through her work, students, faculty and staff are better able to discover the wealth of scholarly resources managed by the Library. She processes most of the art resources obtained through the Myers Foundations program and works on descriptions for the Library’s Digital Collections. She is recognized for her ability to take on new responsibilities which require learning new processes and procedures.
Over the years, Teji has also served on the Library Display Committee and was an officer in the Lib Staff Association. She has been active in UND International Center programs and works at a second job assisting people with disabilities.
“Library colleagues respect Teji for her dedication to her work, her productivity and her good nature. Co-workers especially appreciate her contributions to the work environment. She is known for bringing treats that she shares with her colleagues throughout the Library,” said Wilbur Stolt, director of Libraries.
The Chester Fritz Library Outstanding Support Staff Award is given annually. A selection committee, composed of Library and campus staff and faculty, reviews nominations submitted from the UND community. The Award is based upon superior performance in their job, completion of special library projects, and/or outstanding service to the library, library profession or the campus community. The recipient receives a monetary award and a framed certificate. The names of Award winners are engraved on a wall plaque, which is located outside the Library’s Administrative Office in the Chester Fritz Library.
