UND Nursing to hold ‘Nicolette Wolfleader 5K Walk/Run’ for texting-and-driving awareness

Nicolette A. Wolf Leader, a junior in the University of North Dakota nursing program, was killed in a car accident Dec. 27, 2011, near Brookings, S.D. Police reports indicate that she was texting while driving.

The UND College of Nursing is sponsoring the “Nicollette Wolfleader 5K Walk/Run” between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.., Saturday, Sept. 22, starting at University Park to remind all to STOP texting while driving. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Wolfleader’s children for a college scholarship fund. The cost is $15 to participate, and includes a T-Shirt.

This 5K event is a Walk or Run and participants may can take part between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., at University Park, just east of the UND campus along University Avenue.
