UND Space Studies and Astronomy Club to host latest Public Star Party on Friday, July 20

The University of North Dakota Department of Space Studies and the University’s Astronomy Club will be holding another one of their “Public Star Party” events Friday, July 20, at the UND Observatory about 10 miles west of Grand Forks off U.S. Highway 2 near Emerado, N.D. (See attached directions).

Future star parties are scheduled for Aug. 31, at Clifford Hall; and Sept. 14 and Oct. 9, at the UND Observatory.

All star parties are free and open to the public. Attendees can look at stars, star clusters, planets, satellites, maybe even the Milky Way nebula, as well as other exciting celestial objects

Follow this event on Facebook or Twitter to find out more details and to check in case it’s cancelled due to cloud cover. Organizers will have telescopes on hand, but the public is invited to bring their own telescopes and binoculars. There also will be t-shirts on sale; the proceeds of the sales benefit the observatory and will be used for equipment upgrades so UND space enthusiasts can continue to bring the stars closer to North Dakota!
