Site For New UND Alumni Center Wins State Board Approval

Rendering of proposed new alumni center slated to be built on the University of North Dakota campus

The State Board of Higher Education has approved today (Nov. 4) the site plan for the proposed new home of Alumni Center on the University of North Dakota campus.

The board gave approval to build the alumni center just west of the Chester Fritz Auditorium, along University Avenue on the west side of campus.  The location provides easy access from University Avenue for visiting alumni, families, friends, and potential students.

The new center will be called The Gorecki (pronounced go-rets’-key) Alumni Center in honor of Benedict, ’62, ’63, and Dorothy Gorecki, who have donated $4 million dollars toward the $10.5 million project.
